When you have opened a case you will also open an evaluation. There may be more than one evaluation in a case that you have access to.
You switch between the evaluations in the section "Assessments":
The evaluations at the bottom is the latest evaluation.
The first evaluation created in a case is categorized with evaluation type "First evaluation". Thereafter, if needed, the claims handler copies an existing evaluation to create an addition evaluation. There are four different evaluation types that the claims handler can choose from when copying an existing evaluation. This is the information that is displayed to the claims handler when they are copying an evaluation and will select evaluation type. Note in the information texts how Mavera recommends to use the different options.
This information is included here just to give you a better understanding of the different evaluation types. Note that when the option "Second opinion" is selected, then the claims handler cannot add any new documentation because the evaluation must be made on the same information. You will automatically not be able to view the evaluation made by the other medical advisor and the claims handler does not have the option to upload new information.
After a certain time period the case and its evaluations are closed automatically if the claims handler hasn't done it and after some time case information is removed. If there is a need for an additional evaluation in a case where the case informaition has been removed, then the claims handler must create a new case and a new evaluation within the new case. This means that sometimes an evaluation with evaluation type "First evaluation" is in fact the equivalent of another evaluation type.
In the top left corner you will find three icons:
1. Assessment basis: Here you see the documentation provided as basis for your evaluation
2. Notes: Here you can add your own notes in the evaluation.
3. Messages: Here you can see messages sent to you from Mavera or the claims handler in the case. You can also send messages to Mavera support and/or the claims handler. A notification e-mail is sent to the receiver when the message is sent. Please always check if there are any messages/information before you start your evaluation.
Read through the information provided by the claims handler and answer the questions. We recommend that you read the related articles below to learn more about what scenarios that may occur and how to handle these.
